Call 111 - When it is less urgent than 999

Covid Positive Information

Contact 111 or your GP if:

  • Your symptoms worsen
  • Breathlessness developed or worsens
  • Your symptoms haven’t improved in 10 days

If you have a medical emergency, phone 999 and tell them you have coronavirus symptoms.

People with covid are at risk of their oxygen levels dropping. Regular monitoring at home with painless finger monitor can help you check your oxygen levels.

If you would like to take up the offer ring 01282 805574 (08:30 - 16:30 Mon-Fri). An oxygen monitor/instructions on how to use it is provided. If you are pregnant or gave birth in the last 6 weeks, please call to be offered extra support.

Ring 999 if:

  • You are unable to complete short sentences at rest due to breathlessness.
  • Your breathing suddenly worsens within an hour.

OR if these more general signs of serious illness develop:

  • you are coughing up blood
  • you have blue lips or a blue face
  • you feel cold and sweaty with pale or blotchy skin
  • you have a rash that does not fade when you roll a glass over it
  • you collapse or faint
  • you become agitated, confused or very drowsy
  • you have stopped peeing or are peeing much less than usual

In a medical emergency ring 999 and say you have covid.
